Introduction: ACM Bangalore is excited to launch "Challenge of Code" which will celebrate and award innovative and quality projects in the open source domain. We have partnered with Intuit which provides the Brainstorm portal for the participants to share project ideas,form teams and work on the projects as a team. The two month development period would be followed by a Felicitation which will be a great opportunity to participate in ACM Bangalore Quiz, listen to experts in the field and network with like minded people.
About the ACMB “Challenge of Code”
What is Challenge of Code program ?
It is the Annual Open Source programming Challenge organized by ACM Bangalore in association with its multiple sponsors to foster the spirit of innovation and creative problem solving amongst the IT community and student community in Bangalore.
What are the Goals of the Program?
To provide programming challenges and to give life to the innovative project ideas of the participating organizations by leveraging the huge potential of the individual developers and programmers.
How does the Program work?
• Organizations can submit ideas online at http://www. ideas. intuit. in
• Partcipating organization should assign a Project Manager to administer the project
• ACM Bangalore will notify the project manager of acceptance
• Selected organizations can create their projects on Intuit’s Brainstorm platform
• Individual developers and programmers than vote on the Intuit platform to work with a particular organization leading to the formation of teams
• If the organization finds the individual competent enough to work on the project then the organization invites the individual to work on the project and the participants are notified of acceptance
• Participants get familiar with the organizations they would be working with
• Participants start working with the concerned organization on the official start date of the challenge
• ACM Bangalore will provide the platform for the participants to work
• Participants and organizations give midterm gate reviews and evaluations
• Final work will be reviewed by the judges selected by ACM Bangalore team and the best entries will be awarded as determined in the sole discretion of the Judges

How does an organization with a project idea apply ?
Organizations can submit project ideas on http://ideas. intuit. in
How does an individual/organization who wants to contribute/provide solution to a “Challenge” posted by an organization participate?
Interested participants can start brainstorming by creating a profile on the Intuit’s Ideas platform briefly mentioning their skills, competencies and areas of interest
Can an individual work with multiple organizations?
Individuals can vote to work with multiple organizations but only one application will be accepted. This allows individuals to focus and provide quality work to the organizations they would be working with.
Eligibility:
Open to all the organizations with a Challenge they are seeking solution for.
All the Challenges have to be Open Source projects.
Any individual(student or professional) passionate about providing solutions to the Challenges and working on innovative ideas these organizations have posted
Timeline:
Sept 1- Sept 20 – Open for proposals from organizations to post Challenges
Sept 21-sept 30 – Vote/form teams
Oct 1st – Nov 30th –Work on Challenges –Project Management System would be provided
21st Oct: Review/Evaluation 1
15th Nov: Review/Evaluation 2
Dec 18th - (Quiz +Felicitation)

How does the ideas application work ?
Ideas application is an innovative platform developed by Intuit for people to share their innovative project ideas and seek help and also help people find interesting projects/teams to work with and contribute.
How does the Ideas application act as a platform to find “help” and “help others”?
“Help others” section on the Ideas application fetches and matches help wanted ads with your skills and profile and you get options of Ideas you can help with.
“Find help” section on the Ideas application helps you find people by skills, interests and profile info.
How to Add Ideas or Discover Ideas on the “Ideas” platform?
“Add an Idea” section on the platform allows individuals to add the project idea they are working on and would need help on. “Discover Ideas” section on the platform allows individuals to look at the Ideas they can work with based on their interest.
How to find People on the “Ideas” platform?
“People” section on the navigation allows you to look through the profiles of the people, their activity through different time periods, the projects they have submitted or contributed to.
How to join an organization to work on a project on their list?
Individuals can directly send a request to the team leader expressing their interest in joining the team and working on the idea.
